Orbital ATK is currently seeking an experienced Principal Operations Analyst to assist our Nozzle Value Stream organization in the Tooling and Machining group at our Promontory facilities.
Role Description and Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for implementation of improvement initiatives, and managing and directing the operational support activities associated with leading a shop of machinist/welders and model makers into new tooling and facility technologies, maintaining current and develop new machining/fabrication processes. Will be responsible for the long term facility improvement plans to support the needs of the company as well as continue to enforce all safety and quality standards. Additionally the Operations Analyst acts as department manager as needed and will be expected to make sound business decisions that support the shop and company goals. The Operations Analyst must communicate effectively and initiate necessary actions to ensure that organizational goals are accomplished. As part of the leadership of the shop the successful candidate will be required to assist in building a strong and progressive forward looking team.
Job Duties:
Initiate Maintenance Work Orders, Tool Discrepancy Reports, Tooling Change Notices and Facilities Engineering Orders, and track to completion
Coordinate production needs with scheduled maintenance work.
Assist in the preparation of monthly labor forecasts and analyses
Document quality issues within the quality documentation system and coordinate with Engineering, Quality, and appropriate customers to develop and track implementation of effective Cause/Corrective actions
Write and process Damaged Tool and Property Reports
Experience Requirements:
Candidate must have a minimum of 9 years of manufacturing experience
This position may be filled at a lower level if individual has less than 9 years manufacturing experience
CNC programming as well as GD&T is required to fulfill this position
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and operating procedures
? Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to apply PES principles to improve process flow and standardization of processes.
Experience Preferred:
Demonstrated ability to lead teams
Proficient in the use of Electronic Shop Instructions (ESI)
Development and support of productive teams
Minimum of 4 years in a leadership position
Skills & Qualifications:
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Detail oriented but able to understand the big picture to ensure that organizational goals are accomplished.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to Word, Excel and PowerPoint
BS Degree in a Technical Field. Machining and or welding experience is required.
Position can be filled at a lower level

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
