Orbital ATK is currently seeking an experienced Principal F5 Engineer to join our Corporate Enterprise Infrastructure Applications team in Plymouth, MN, Dulles, VA, Promontory, UT or Chandler, AZ office. As the primary F5 engineer, this position will take over ownership of the current F5 environment that includes the BIG-IP GTM and LTM platforms.
The Principal F5 Engineer will be responsible for not only ensuring the smooth day to day operation of the current load balancing environment but also building up Orbital ATK's internal support capabilities and positioning the platform for future growth. This highly dynamic position will interact with application teams across the organization to engineer, document, and support load balancing solutions unique to Orbital ATK's application requirements.
Core Functions
This position will partner with Application and Infrastructure teams to ensure optimum F5 configurations
This position will ensure highly redundant performance and availability of the F5 systems.
This position will implement and lead F5 projects based on business needs, project requirements, and proactive improvement processes.
This position will participate in cross-functional IT technical thought leadership collaboration with technical peers to create the best designs for a highly interconnected infrastructure.
This position will lead the development of new principles, architectures, standards and concepts related to load balancing infrastructure and services.
Required Qualifications
9 + years with hands-on experience on F5 BIG-IP GTM/LTM and APM.
Strong troubleshooting/triage abilities utilizing common methodologies.
Proficiency in at least one scripting language (ie. PowerShell, Bash, Perl).
Extensive knowledge of Load balancing technology including algorithms and health check options
Extensive knowledge and experience with hosting SSL certificates on the F5 BIG-IP platform
Extensive knowledge and experience regarding F5 BIG-IP LTM VIP configuration with health check
Extensive knowledge and experience with F5 BIG-IP GTM Wide IP configuration
Knowledge and experience with F5 BIG-IP iRule programming and troubleshooting
Knowledge and experience with F5 BIG-IP TMOS upgrades
Very good understanding of DNS functionality and concepts as it relates to IPv4 and IPv6.
Strong understanding of TCP and HTTP as it pertains to packet inspection and TCP flow in the Network and Application environment.
Demonstrated skills in business case development for proposed technology changes
Proven ability to work with both highly technical and business oriented resources and to work in a matrixed, team-based environment.

Exceptional organizational skills with attention to deadlines and details
Ability to self-manage and report on projects and initiatives
Self-motivated and able to multitask under tight schedules.

Desired Qualifications
Experience with Microsoft UAG or other reverse proxy solutions
Experience with common management and reporting tools such as NetMRI or Solarwinds
Experience with an enterprise class internal PKI
Experience with certificate management
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
