Orbital ATK is currently seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our Electronics team in our Promontory, UT facility.
Role description & Responsibilities:
The Electrical Design Engineer is responsible to create Electronic, and Instrumentation Design Systems to support production, static test, and developmental flight motors. He/She will work with a team that owns the development and implementation these designs throughout the product lifecycle, and will represent this work to internal and external customers.
Job Duties:
In a team environment, be responsible for the design, requirements, ICDs and integration of electrical and/or instrumentation systems.
Assist in the process of creating the design, requirements, ICDs and validating the design through the flight certification process.
Analyze, using industry standard tools, new or existing electrical system and component designs for requirement compliance in areas of electrical circuit design, analog signal conditioning, control systems and/or electromagnetic effects.
Compile and analyze test data to determine effect of design on products, systems, or equipment.
Develop or assist in developing specifications for selecting components and equipment to use.
Utilize computer-aided design equipment, develop basic data and make preliminary layouts, sketches, and notes necessary to present design proposal.
Check completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning.
Identify design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommend revisions and/or improvements in design layout to responsible engineers or designers.
Experience Requirements:
Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of Electrical, Instrumentation, Avionics and/or Controls experience with BS degree
Ability to travel: Travel expectation of 0% ? 10%
Knowledge of Instrumentation, sensors, data acquisition systems
Knowledge of electro-mechanical systems
Analog and digital design experience
Knowledge of Test design and execution
Work experience in a government contracting environment
Strong skills in effectively learning and applying new concepts and tools.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Detail oriented but able to understand the big picture.
Experience Preferred:
Skills & Qualifications:
Broad understanding of electrical and electromechanical system design and integration.
Strong knowledge of circuit design and analysis (particularly analog).
BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required with 1.5 years experience, or
MS degree in Engineering
Position may be filled at a lower level (Associate Electrical Engineer) requiring a BS degree in Electrical Engineering - some experience preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
