Orbital ATK is currently searching for a Mechanical, Chemical or Materials Science Engineer to work in Process Engineering at our Promontory, UT location.
Job description:
Process engineering responsibilities in rocket motor manufacturing, particular emphasis in fluid spray applications, i.e., primers, adhesives, unsaturated rubbers, bond surface preparation for composite and metal components. Technical areas of interest include processing adhesives/primer chemistry, associated mechanical and chemical surface preparation for vulcanization of unsaturated rubbers to rocket motor components.
This job will require technical / manufacturing oversight, investigative problem resolution, data analysis, and presentation skills to leadership and external ATK customers. Position requires supporting cross function matrixed investigation teams, with emphasis on root cause analysis, process failure modes and effect analysis (PFMEA). Position requires manufacturing electronic work instruction development and ownership. Dual Process and Design Engineering MRB responsibilities may be a consideration.
Responsibilities include:
Desire to directly work with operations, in a manufacturing environment, with flight hardware
Developing and improving manufacturing processes, materials, and manufacturing work instructions
Aptitude for process and manufacturing automation and computer controls
Use of process control techniques to maintain sustainable and capable processes
Strong emphasis on ownership and accountability for assigned responsibilities
Solid organizational skills and ability to work with minimal direction in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interface with an organization at all levels,
Excellent computer skills and adaptability to multiple software tools, potentially controls
Initiative, self-starter, adaptable, and high motivation for excellence
Limited off-shift and extended work schedules supporting assigned flight hardware manufacturing operations
Encouraged to obtaining design authority for component processing
Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Materials Science Engineering, preferred experience & exposure within a "hands-on" manufacturing environment,
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and strong oral and written communications skill
Development and ownership of manufacturing work instructions
Demonstrated organization and multitasking skills
Strong desire to work in a dynamic manufacturing environment
Responsible for Process Readiness Certifications, i.e., Process Owner Reviews, etc.
Position can be filled at a lower level.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
