We have been retained to find a talented Global Business Unit Director - Natural Colors! This role can be remote, assuming candidates can travel up to 35% of the time. Job
Summary:
Responsible for providing strategic leadership and management of the Natural Colors Business Unit, including the Zeaxanthin product line, by leading a cross-functional team of directors and managers to establish long-range goals, including long-term revenue and gross margin goals, growth strategies, and business plans for the business unit worldwide. Responsible for delivering bottom line profitability of the global business unit and achieving the overall business unit performance goals. This role is a corporate leader in a private and sustainable organization and will be responsible for contributing to the short and long-term achievement of growth, net income and return on invested capital. Essential Job Functions:
Shape and design the global natural colors business unit strategy to strengthen the competitive position of the company worldwide through effective leadership and management. Responsible for establishing revenue growth goals for the natural colors business unit each fiscal year while also ensuring a sustainable pipeline is in place to support the business unit strategy. Coordinate with global leaders and officers as needed to ensure sustainable topline growth that effectively delivers on net income goals. Responsible for the shape and design of the Zeaxanthin product line to strengthen the competitive position of the company worldwide through effective leadership and management. Responsible for establishing revenue growth and net gross margin goals for the zeaxanthin product line each fiscal year in collaboration with the supply chain and sales leadership teams. Provide executive leadership to influence the full P&L of the zeaxanthin product line for optimal financial performance. Provide executive leadership in establishing the innovation targets, including disruption innovation as well as incremental innovations to improve the business performance. Develop, organize, direct, and evaluate the short-term and long-term business strategies for the business unit. Be aware of the factors influencing the P&L and make justified decisions where possible and/or engage with functional leaders to identify the best approach for delivering the budgeted net income. Strategic Cycles:
Responsible for leading a 5 year strategic review aimed at setting strategic goals and the corresponding changes and improvements needed to achieve such objectives. Spearhead development, communication, and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes for the business unit. Inorganic growth:
Responsible for bringing forward potential acquisition strategies, including technology acquisitions, that could boost net income and ROIC while adding credibility and relevance to customers per the business unit strategy. Collaborate with the commercial and technical teams to develop and implement plans for improving business unit performance to accommodate the growth strategies of the company. Cross Selling Support:
Provides a diversified portfolio of natural ingredients to food and beverage manufacturers. While the business unit director aims at maximizing the success of the business unit, it is of critical importance that the business unit director supports cross-selling efforts across business units through a shared team to maximize profitability. Corporate Leadership:
Responsible for improving commercial foundations through master-level interest and experience that the whole of the company can benefit from. Examples include Sales excellence, strategic thinking, key account management, business plan development, finance for non-financial managers, coaching, negotiation skills, etc. Motivate and lead a high-performance business unit team worldwide. Provide leadership role in product positioning, marketing, pricing, forecasting, and situational analysis, and other business matters. Gather and analyzes marketing and competitive information relevant to the business including pricing, market opportunities, and sales performance. Monitor business environment for new product and market opportunities that can be pursued to achieve the growth objectives of the company. Establish credibility throughout the organization and with the Board of Directors as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges. Required:
Minimum 10 years of experience in the food and beverage and/or specialized functional ingredients industry with subject matter expertise in the manufacturing and commercialization of related products in the industry/categories. Must have natural color experience. Minimum 5 years with P&L responsibility through product management or business unit management. Bachelor's degree. Strong experience in international business. Strong financial and analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to work across functions. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Power Point software programs. Desired:
Master's degree in business administration or management. Experienced in B2B transactions and multinational operations. Senior management experience in B2B company. Bilingual
